SEATTLE — Recently released body cam footage shows Seattle police stopping two suspects who tried to shoplift from a Costco.

On Wednesday, loss-prevention officers saw the suspects trying to steal “in bulk” from the store and contacted Seattle police, KIRO reports. The two were preparing to escape via a fire exit while a getaway driver was waiting outside.

But the suspects’ plans were foiled. When they tried to leave through the exit, police officers were waiting for them. The 30-year-old man, 21-year-old woman, and 18-year-old getaway driver were all arrested.

Investigators believe the suspects hit a different Costco that same day, where they stole more than $2,000 worth of electronics. Loss-prevention officers told detectives that they had a run-in before with one of the suspects, who had a seven-inch blade in his possession at the time of his arrest. He was booked for investigation of robbery, while the other two suspects were booked for investigation of theft.
