Video: Ohio officers save choking 2-month-old baby’s life Andrew Eager March 21, 2018 Current Events This post was originally published on this siteBy PoliceOne Staff SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — An Ohio police department recently released video of two officers saving a choking 2-month-old baby’s life. On Tuesday, Shaker Heights Officers Ryan Sidders and Alex Oklander spotted a car in the middle of the highway and encountered a woman in distress, WOIO reports. Tamica Pruitte said she stopped because her 2-month-old baby, Tyra, was choking while riding in the backseat. “The mom seemed kind of frantic and didn’t really know what to do,” Oklander said. Oklander told WJW that they saw milk coming out of the baby’s mouth and nose and administered back thrusts. The officers were able to clear the baby’s airway after several attempts. Pruitte said she was thankful that the officers were there at the right time. Before the officers helped her, they were headed to another call that was canceled. “We could have easily backed up another officer at a different part of the city. We might have been there two, three minutes later and when someone isn’t breathing, two or three minutes is life or death,” Sidders said.
